Emerson's next race is Thursday Thunder Round 9 on July 9th.

Emerson is a 12 year-old, social 7th grader that resides in Cumming, GA. He started racing a go-kart at the age of 5 in Portland, OR. Things got more serious after moving to Dallas/Ft. Worth at age 7, and he was able to win a national championship in Micro Swift at age 9 (Stars Championship Series) in 2023. He moved to the Atlanta area at age 10, and started racing a US Legend Car in the summer of 2025, winning three races at Echo Park Speedway in the Chargers Division before moving up to Young Lions in the fall.
Aside from racing, Emerson is a social kid who loves spending time with his friends, playing football for Liberty Middle School, and golfing.
Round 9 can be described as entirely forgettable. The timing loop wasn't working, so everyone lined up based on points. This was a bit of a gift to us, as we got to start third. In turn one, Emerson had his left tires on the white line on the edge of the track, but the car outside of him kept squeezing down. With nowhere to go, we collided, and both had to go to the tail of the field.
When the green flag came out for the restart, the car in front of us didn't go, so which put us in a bad position to restart the race. Emerson caught a car in front but struggled to get around it. After trying a bump and run, the car spun, sending both to the tail of the field. That restart didn't go much better, and when Emerson went to make a pass, he was concerned that he'd get turned down again, causing a second collision, so he backed out. If you're involved in three cautions, you get the black flag. Emerson tried another bump and run with the same result as earlier, bringing the black flag out for him.
We certainly learned some lessons, and we'll come back for Round 10 looking to finish the series on a high note.
